What is Match Play?
Match play is a format in golf where players compete hole-by-hole rather than counting total strokes for the entire round (like in stroke play).
How it works:

Each hole is its own contest.

Win a hole? You go “1 up.”

Tie a hole? It’s “halved”—nobody gains an advantage.

If the match is tied at any point, it’s called “all square.”

The match ends when one side is up more holes than remain—for example, “3 & 2” means 3 up with only 2 holes left to play.
This format keeps things exciting—one bad hole doesn’t wreck your round—and every tee shot feels like a fresh start.
It’s strategic, fun, and perfect for friendly rivalries or serious competition.

- Play begins the week of June 1st – registration opens May 18 at 9am!
- Each match has a 3-week window to complete
- Schedule matches at your convenience
